Influences of social person-related information on face perception
and person evaluation

Affective information about other people's social behaviour, transmitted verbally during conversations, in the news or via social media, may bias face perception, shape moral judgments and prejudice social interactions. I will present a series of behavioral and electrophysiological experiments investigating how social affective information shapes face processing.

The studies focus on social affective information, influences of trustworthiness of the information effects, and interactions of person-related information and facial appearance (e.g., trustworthiness). The studies demonstrate that social person-related information not only affects the perception of faces and facial expressions, but may even influence whether a face is consciously perceived.
