Mariella Paul

Mariella completed her Bachelor's in Cognitive Science at Osnabrück University, during which she did an intership at the MPI for Psycholinguistics in Nijmegen. She received her international master's in clinical and experimental linguistics from the University of Potsdam. From 2016-2020, Mariella did her PhD in cooperation with the MPI for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences and the Berlin School of Mind and Brain. Her PhD project focussed on the development of grammatical rule learning during early childhood.

Since fall 2020, Mariella has been working at the Psychology of Language Research Group. Here, she is interested in curiosity-driven learning, or how children's own interests and curiosity shape which words they learn.
