Zeitreihenanalysen von Interaktionsprozessen bei der Bearbeitung komplexer Probleme in Expertengruppen

Zeitschrift für Sozialpsychologie

Demonstrates methodological possibilities offered by process analysis using two comparative case studies of group problem-solving processes. The effectiveness of problem-solving groups is usually evaluated using two criteria: quality of result and the extent to which the group members are satisfied with the course of their discussion and its outcome. It is often assumed that both the result and group members' satisfaction are determined by input variables such as characteristics of the problem or the formal group structure. The data in the study show that process parameters rather than input variables are able to explain the occurrence of certain events and differences in satisfaction in problem-solving groups.
