Development of media competencies

Every day over 100 billion e-mails are sent. Countless people use social networks such as Facebook and mobile messaging apps like WhatsApp. Today, the variety of communication media is an inherent part of everyday life.

The implicitness with which we use various media leads to a growing need for competencies. Thus, modern communication psychology is dealing with researching and imparting this media competence.

Associated with imparting media competence

is the ever increasing importance of the approachto e-learning.

This teaching method implies structured online

access to the learning content.

The use of multimedia content is possible as well.

By these means, coping and problem-solving strategies

can be learned that enable a healthier as well as more

efficient and effective handling today’s daily information flood.
