Annika Carina Ziereis

Annika studied Psychology at the University of Koblenz-Landau (B.Sc.) and at the University of Göttingen (M.Sc.).

Since October 2018, she has been a staff member and in the Department of Cognition, Emotion and Behaviour and the Affective Neuroscience and Psychophysiology Laboratory at the University of Göttingen. She completed her doctorate in Behavior and Cognition and as a member of the  Research Training Group 2070 Understanding Social Relationships.

Current research interests

  • The processing of emotional expressions in real and artificial faces

  • The interaction of emotion and learning processes in face perception

  • Influences of positive emotional context on motor inhibition

  • The influence of immediate and acquired social and emotional salience on attentional processes

  • The neuronal integration of emotional stimuli from different sensory channels (especially audio-visual integration)
