Lisa Unger

Lisa studied psychology (B.Sc. and M.Sc.) at the Georg-August-University Göttingen. She wrote her bachelor’s thesis at the German Primate Center, where she examined the effects of introducing simple video-game elements into a psychophysical experiment with regard to the subjective experience of the participants and the quality of the collected data. As part of her master’s thesis in the diagnostics department of the Georg-Elias-Müller-Institute she conducted both a classic and a network meta-analysis to investigate the effectiveness of culturally adapted CBT-based psychological interventions for depressive symptoms. During her studies she worked as a tutor for courses on data analysis with R and Matlab.

In August 2026, Lisa began her PhD as part of the RTG 2906 Curiosity. Together with Prof. Dr. Anne Schacht and Leon Behle she works on the research project ‘To know or not to know- emotional, motivational and person-related factors of seeking or avoiding information’. Here, she will focus on the interplay between emotional and other factors during information seeking and investigate the underlying emotional and cognitive processes using psychophysiological methods.
